Rescheduled TBA Artist Barbara Mallon will be in the gallery to show us how she works in wax to create wonderful art. She will talk about tools, materials and how she is inspired by this unique medium. Stop by the gallery to see Barbara when we reschedule. We will have plenty of chairs and refreshments. My major processes include burning, carving, stitching and scribing , rubbing and abrading- all used to harness the narrative of my wakeful dream time as I work. Bay Avenue Gallery is unique on the Long Beach Peninsula in that it carries only local artists and offers weekly classes and events.
The gallery is starting it’s 4th year now. We opened April 2010 with 12 artists. Today we have 48 artists that include a dozen mediums, with works of many sizes and price ranges.
We pride ourselves that there is always something going on at the gallery. This is a place that is usually filled with artists, exciting ideas and creative energy.
Our children’s classes have developed quite a following. Several of the artists are retired teachers and they bring a wealth of ideas and talent to the students.
The adult and family classes are specially designed to meet the needs of the people who attend. We currently have several of clay classes scheduled as well as an ongoing watercolor class. Family classes are designed for a child to work with an adult. These are specially priced to be affordable as we hope to make memories as well as artworks.

Home School Art
9-week course fall sessions
$12 for single sessions, 5 sessions for $55, or all 9 sessions for $90.
Each session will be taught by experienced teachers Sue Raymond PhD and Lestia Price MA.
SUSAN RAYMOND first graduated with a Drawing and Design degree with an emphasis in teaching. Later she received a master in Art Education, and a PhD in curriculum and Instruction. During her 30 year teaching career she received National Board Certification, and was chosen AZ Art Educator of the Year.
LESTIA PRICE taught K through adults in multiple subjects. During her 30 years teaching experience Ms Price earned an MA in education. A BA in Studio Art and Art History. And a AA in liberal arts, a certificate in Graphic arts and an additional certificate in teaching Photographic arts.
